My Premiere at Signs of Life Gallery in Lawrence

Now is your chance to see some of the largest prints I’ve ever made in my upcoming solo show at Signs of Life Gallery. The director at Signs of Life has been kind enough to give me a very large gallery space upstairs and this will probably be my most comprehensive show to date. Make an evening of it, and enjoy this as well as other fine art shows during the Summer Lawrence Gallery Walk this Friday between 7 and 10pm.

My blog seems to be the place where I share color photos. I’ve never exhibited my color work. Maybe someday. Enjoy! Please leave me some feedback and critique in the comments section.

Monday Quote 7/14/08

July 14, 2008

Above photograph by Henri Cartier-Bresson

I first ran across this quote on Matt Needham’s blog. It’s a good one and really embodies how I feel about photography as an artform. Please chime in with your thoughts and opinions.

“They . . . asked me:
“‘How do you make your pictures?’ I was puzzled . . .
“I said, ‘I don’t know, it’s not important.’ – Henri Cartier-Bresson

Monday Quote

July 7, 2008

So I’ve decided to post an interesting quote on Mondays that will be related to art or photography or both. The quote will, most often, be by a famous artist or art critic, and I will also try to share a photograph of that person’s work. So here is the first “Monday Quote.” I’d like to generate some discussion around the quote so feel free to comment.

“I don’t believe in art. I believe in artists.”

- Marcel Duchamp
